Above is my Jeep driver, Seymour.  I used to scare the daylights out of him when I'd have him drive me out past all the American checkpoints so I could take pictures of the "authentic Vietnam". 

I always went on these trips without carrying a weapon, which really freaked him out.  I actually thought it was safer that way because I appeared "harmless".  I guess that I was right, because I'm here to tell you about it!

On the left is my secretary, Nguyen Ahn.  Despite what people have heard about Vietnamese women, she was very classy and moral.  Educated in Paris, she spoke 4 languages.  She taught me a lot about Vietnamese culture.  I was sad to leave her behind.  I wonder if she is alive today and as beautiful as she was then.
