Costa Rica's only cloud forest is located in Monteverde.  It's called a cloud forest because of its high elevation - literally in the clouds. 

The only road to Monteverde is very primitive.  A 4x4 vehicle is required.  I drove all 80Km to Monteverde and never got out of second gear.
