On the left is the Chichen Itza Pyramid, which served as an extremely accurate calendar. It is amazing that the Mayans built it long before our modern Gregorian calendar was adopted. It is also the central building of the settlement, which was a religious shrine that Mayans from hundreds of miles away came to visit on pilgrimages.
Incredibly, there is another pyramid built inside which serves as a calendar of the Moon.
