Experience

Present:  Clinic Administrator,  Top administrative officer for 23 physician group.  Full charge of practice, Same Day Surgery Center, Recruiting, and Real Estate.  Improved collection percentage by over 7% and reduced overhead.

 

January 1997 to December 2004:  Chief Executive Officer, Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic, Atlanta, GA.  Merged two premier orthopaedic groups.  Full charge of business operations and practice development.  Significantly reduced overhead.  Achieved “better practice” status in benchmarking study.  Implemented activity-based cost accounting.  Established Ambulatory Surgery Center and MRI.  Developed joint ventures.  Negotiated major capitated contract.

 

1995 to 1997:  Regional Manager, PhyMatrix Corp., West Palm Beach, FL.  Responsible for the development, recruiting, marketing and profit/loss operations of all corporate physician-clients in Central Florida.  Local administrators reported to me; I reported directly to the Senior Vice President.

 

1989 to 1995:  Chief Executive Officer, Osler Medical, Melbourne, FL.  Directly responsible for group’s growth from six providers to 31.  Designed and implemented all computerized clinic and business functions to a near paperless environment.  Recruited physicians, marketed the group, planned expansions, and led annual retreats.  Consistently ran the business at overhead rates less than the MGMA national average.  Identified a capital partner, negotiated the partnering business plan and strategic documents that led to a relationship with PhyMatrix Corp.

 

1972 to 1989:  Continuously employed in the medical group management arena;  nine years as the administrator of a hematology/medical oncology group,  three years as the executive director of a rehabilitation medicine group and four years as an assistant administrator of a gastroenterology group.
